Local CSV workflow · finite version 1.1.0
Check every CSV export against the same rules.
If you repeatedly compare keyed price lists, define acceptable changes once and run the same check for each new export. Use the free browser demo first to test whether these exact rules fit your files.
Start with your own rules
Choose a unique row key, a price column, the maximum number of added and removed rows, and the maximum absolute price increase for each matched key. Your CSV data and rule values stay in the demo’s browser. Files from the spreadsheet connector are not carried across.
You may optionally register scoped interest in the proposed pack inside the demo. Interest and email confirmation do not authorize a payment.
One policy, repeated local runs
The finite pack contains nine files: offline HTML, Node CLI, shared rule engine, policy and CSV examples, customer guide, local-use license and manifest. It needs no server, account or package install. Open index.html in Chrome, or run:
node cli.cjs previous.example.csv latest.example.csv policy.example.json > report.jsonThe included example is PASS: one added row, no removals, and a matched price rise of 0.50 meets the configured boundary. For your files, replace the example paths and edit the policy:
{
"key_column": "sku",
"price_column": "price",
"max_added_rows": 1,
"max_removed_rows": 0,
"max_price_increase": "0.50"
}| Exit | Decision | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | PASS | All supplied rules passed for supported input. |
| 1 | BLOCK | Supported input violates at least one supplied rule. |
| 2 | REJECTED | Invalid policy or unsupported input; no pass result. |
Capture the JSON report and exit status in your existing process. The CLI writes its report to standard output; the command above asks your shell to save it. It does not upload files or modify a store.
Check the fit before any future purchase
- UTF-8 CSV only: at most 1,000,000 bytes and 5,000 data rows per file.
- Both files require identical ordered, unique, nonempty headers and a single exact, unique, nonempty row key.
- Prices use nonnegative plain decimals, up to 64 characters. Currency symbols, exponents and negative prices are rejected.
- The increase rule applies to matched keys; equality with the maximum passes. Added and removed rows are checked separately.
- No Excel input, fuzzy matching, custom setup, monitoring, store import or promised future updates.
PASS covers your supplied rules only. It does not guarantee a safe Shopify import or assess business consequences.
Node 22.23.2 and offline Chromium 147 were exercised for this release. The retained report-format identifier csv-policy-gate-prototype-1.0.0 is a documented compatibility interface; package version is 1.1.0.
Frozen ZIP: 17,628 bytes · SHA-256 77e0e02e336c9007937abfd90ec445eea56ced446037e470aef82d8ed8aa24d6. The public JSON manifest includes all nine member hashes and the full local-use license. It is a specification, not a paid checkout.
